It is time for an announcement.
I am the head admin of the Indie Game Utopia Discord server and we're hosting our second game jam over there! The IGU Summer Jam starts on Nov. 15 and will last for two weeks. After that, all participants will be able to vote on each other's entries, and the winner will be announced on Dec. 6. The theme of the jam will be announced when the jam starts! Prizes: 1. A special "Game Jam Winner" role in the Discord server to let everyone know that you won the jam. 2. An itch.io key for a game of the winner's choosing. 3. The winner will have their game covered by Indie Hive. But I have been working on the game over the past two months, and I think this is as good a time as any to show off some of the progress I've made. I have added two new areas to the game. The first area that I want to show off is the Berlin Central Station, or Berlin Hauptbahnhof. While designing the station, I used a lot of real-life photos of the station's exterior and interior as a reference, and it took me a long time to get everything to look right. But I'm satisfied with the way it turned out in the end. Here's a screenshot of the main railway platform: And another screenshot of the main railway platform, though this one's indoors: And here's some screenshots of the lower levels: The other area I've been working on is a swamp. Here's some screenshots: And that's it, for now.

Greetings, and stay safe! -Bas I have been making some more progress on The Outbreak Story since the last progress update, so it's time for a new update. Enjoy! First, there's a new area. A train station! (check the original tweet here) The train may look familiar to people who have been keeping up with the game's development since before I launched this site. A fairly big portion of the game's plot will take place aboard a train, and it's been at least 2 years (probably longer, I just can't remember) since I drew the pixel art for the train. So I reshaded it and made some slight changes to the design. Here's the old pixel art for comparison: And I added a new boss to the game. Though it's more of a miniboss. It ambushes the party while they're traveling across the sea on a boat. If you've made it this far and are reading this, thanks a lot! Greetings, and stay safe! -Bas For the past few days, I've been making some progress on The Outbreak Story. This won't be a big update, but I do have an announcement at the end. Keep reading to find out what that announcement is. First things first, I added another campfire scene! (check the original tweet here) And I finally made an in-game sprite for Aster, a major character in the game's story. Here it is: For comparison's sake, here's the mugshot I made a few years ago: That's it as far as progress goes. However, I said that I had an announcement, so let's get into that before wrapping things up. I am officially making pixel art for Catjitsu now. Catjitsu is a game by BountyXSnipe, one of my close online friends. The game stars a talking kitten named Amber who is also a "non-lethal ninja". According to Bounty, the game is heavily inspired by both Enter the Gungeon and CrossCode and it will be made in the Unity engine. My role in the game's development is to help with animations, design monsters and make environmental assets (such as tilesets). This is one of the sprites I've made for the game. It's a redesign of an old enemy, the Turret Spider. Here it is: Check out Bounty's Twitter (@BountyXSnipe) for further updates on the game.
